Family Reunion

The bible is an historical document, it is a historical document because it is Gods accounting of the genealogy of mankind. It is compiled with countless stories about the central figures in Gods creation plan. When we look at this story some of the prominent names that jump out at us would be Adam and Eve, Noah and Enoch, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. Then we have Ruth and Boaz, Joseph and Mary and our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. All of these individuals were generationally connected through genealogy to the birth of the savior of the world Jesus Christ. Family is such a vital part of the human ex]erince, we should all learn to appreciate it for the value that it holds.


Gods creation story is about families, and the earth is full of a wide range of diverse groups of people of all races. The diversity of races is accounted for in the bible through the story of the tower of babel. God chose to disperse humans and complicate their communication skills by giving then different languages. But in spite of all of this we are all connected through genealogy to the original creation story of Adam and eve. and so we all originated from the same family line.


Family reunions are often held because family members live scattered around the country. Over the course of our busy schedules and daily lives we don't get an opportunity to spend as much time as we would like together. So family reunions are planned to give us time to catch up on each others life, spend some precious time together and show each other love. The bible say,s in Palsm 103: 15, "Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die." Because we fully understand the principle of what that statement means, we should honor and cheirsh family reunions. All of our days are limited on this earth, we have an alloted amount of time. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. So when ever God is graceous enough to keep us and afford us another opportunity to spend time with family and friends we should thank him for his grace, daily mercies and goodness.


I have been discussing earthly families, then there is Gods heavenly family. As unfortunate as this may sound we are not all a part of that. By our own choosing if we may have elected to exclude ourselves from Gods eternal family. There is only one way to be a part of this family and that is by electing to beleive on Gods only begotten son Jesus christ. The bible says that if we believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save us from our sins then we are saved and we become a part of a Gods eternal family. Family reunions are important while we are here on earth. the most important family reunion we will ever have the opportunity to be a part of will last forever, thats the one we should be planning to attend.

    Making a baby registry is such a special time for family to come together.

This post was written on the date indicated which is June 30th 2010 there was not a rain cloud in the sky. But for most of the early summer here in Des monies Iowa it has been raining cats and dogs as they like to say. Its has rained so frequently in recent weeks that there is now concern here in Iowa for major flooding in the main tributaries of the Des monies river basin. In today's world there are a lot of signs that indicate we are in the last days. For those individuals who don't know Christ this can be a disturbing conversation. Even for those of us who claim to be saved and know the Lord for ourselves there is something unsettling about this topic as well. For those of us who live in colder climates, it can be come a real challenge to remain upbeat and not depressed during winter time. There is also a clinical condition called SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder or post holiday depression. it is attributable to the anxiety we feel because the days are so overcast and gloomy.
