What If?
Ya know yesterday I launched this blog, To be quite honest with you I launched it after reading about the success of Natasha Eubanks the founder of YBF. That's her middle right. There is a cover story on her in this months up coming issue of Black Enterprise. In recounting how her blog site became a success, she reveals that it was quite by accident. She is a hurricane Katrina survivor and was looking for something to do I believe in her down time, hence her blog. Which brings me to our topic for today, What If? These are two very insignificant words standing by themselves, what and if. Combine them in a prepositional sentence and suddenly you have two words that can speak volumes. Now keeping the topic of my blog in context with my heading I must address this question as it relates to adversity. Thinking about my own life, what if i had not made some of the choices i have made, would i be in my current predicament? More about that later. What if barrack Obama's father had not abandoned him at a young age? Would he have became president of these United States? What if Abraham had not slept with his servant Hagar? would the world as we know it not have any terrorist? What if Natasha had not launched her blog out of boredom? Would she be experiencing the success she now has? What and if, two very insignificant words standing alone. combine them with the everyday human experience and they can become quite powerful. I said said all of that to say this. None of us should use these words as an excuse to say why we have failed or not overcome. instead we must use them as barrack and Natasha did, as a catalyst to overcome our circumstances, and triumph over whatever tumultuous times we might find ourselves facing. i have often told my own family when the last chapter in the book of my life is written. that will be my story. Not what if, but how the ending has transcended the means. ya know a means to an end. What If? I believe as a Christian that we have Gods promise for That!
