Two Greatest Commandments
Jesus had gotten together with the Pharisees, one of them who was an expert in the law inquired of him. Teacher what is the greatest commandments in the law. Jesus replied; "Love the lord your God with all your heart, all your mind and all your soul." This is the first and greatest commandment and the second is like it. Love your neighbors as yourself, all the laws and the prophets hang on these two commanments." Ultimately Jesus's message here is clear if you follow theses two commandments you will keep the others. More specifically the bible goes on to say "That God is light and in him is no darkness, if we say we have fellowship with him yet continue to walk in darkeness we are a liar and the truth is not in us." To love God is to obey his commandments.
All governments and authorities are put in place by God, after all he is the creater of the earth and the universe. I was reading on line just this morning that some lieutinant colonial who has served in the army for over eighteen years is refusing to deploy to his second tour in Afgahnistan. This is do to his believe that our current president, President Barrack Obama was not legitimately born in the United States. He is a member of some right wing political group who call themselves the birthers. They believe in some insane political theory that he can't be President because he does not meet the constitutional requirements necessary to be President of the United States. The first is that you must have been born in the US and second that you have had to be at least 35 years old and reside here for a least fourteen years prior to running for office. President Barrack Obama was born in Honolulu Hawaii August 4th 1961, was 47 years old at the time of his election, and has resided in the US since 1971.
Now I guess you are wondering how I tie these two topics together, The real problem that these birthers and this colonial are having is the discomfort they feel with the fact that we have a Black President. This colonial is so deniably plausibly racist that he would rather face court martial from the army than serve under a Black President. These people represent the extreme right wing branch of the Republican party. Their views are in concert with the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Sara Palin. My point is simply this, if the people who hold these ignorent views would follow the two Greatest commandments. The problem they have with our current President would simply go away. They would not only love God appropriatly but they would have no problem loving all of mankind accordingly, including our current President Barrack Hussien Obama.
