Good News

Choosing to write a blog about adversity in the human experience can paint a dark foreboding picture about mans existence. I try to incorporate a positive message even when the topic is adverse. All is not lost, we have good news. The good news is the Gospel, the message of salvation all human beings are eligible for if they would just receive it. John 3:16 say's ""For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." As a direct result of this event God can re-establish a broken relationship with mankind that was damaged through sin. We have been adopted. It is through adoption that God can establish a spiritual relationship with the individual who believes in Christ Jesus.
Scripture says that Gods word is foolishness to them who are enslaved to sin and under the law of disobedience. For how could you know that you had sinned apart from the law? Those of us who have been adopted are set free from the penalty of breaking the law. We have been justified through Christ Jesus. Romans 8:15-16 says; "For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the spirit of adoption by whom you cry out, "Abba Father." The spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God." So like a son born into an earthly family we have been adopted into Gods eternal family. Which means that we are entitled to a full inheritance. Once established this relationship can never be broken.
Isn't that good news? that no matter how awful we are as human beings god has provided the means for us to have an eternal relationship with him. Not only while we live our short lives here on earth, but more importantly eternally in heaven.
