Tea Party Loyalist

I have a made it a priority of mine to keep the focus of my blog on spiritual issues. Since as a christian the bible has made it very clear that we are to be in the world but not of it. This tells me that I have to utilize the services available in the world, but my mode of operating in it should be separate or noticeably different. Having said that, I have often wondered why two people can see the same thing and arrive at different conclusions regarding what it means. One example of this is the feelings in this country on a political level regarding our current President. President Barrack Obama who is the current president of the United States, who in my opinion just happens to be Black. The United States Congress as well as the Senate are strongly divided on the issues central to governing our country. It is evident to most of us that whenever they are debating some of the issues that are relevant to our country going forward in the 21 century, they are always divided along party lines.
What issues you might say? We just recently passed major legislation in response to the economic melt down that was a direct result of greed coming from wall street. A prerequisite for this was the implosion of the housing financial markets that resulted in record foreclosures all across our great nation for lots of Americans.
The banking industry saw large financial institutions, thought to large to ever be able to fail start to go in to economic meltdown. Our current President with sound advice from the very people who caused some of the mess implemented an economic stimulus package worth billions of dollars to bail them out. Now prior to the decision to give them this money it was thought that there was no way we were going to avoid a post depression type consequence from the billions of dollars being lost everyday. So congress and the senate passed the stimulus package to save the greedy corporate CEO's and there company's at tax payer's expense. Now in hind sight we have all of the pundits saying how irresponsible it was to pass this big government bail out at tax payers expense. Did they forget why it was passed? It was passed because our economy was on the verge of being completely shut down, without some type of big government intervention we would have literally bled to death financially.
Then you have the debate over the health care crisis in our country. It is estimated that there are presently in our country a total of over 32 million people who do not have affordable health care. The financial burden that this situation is placing on the health care industry in hidden costs is astronomical. It is financially unsustainable at its present clip, if some type of intervention is not implemented, it to is in jeopardy of imploding. So since our president has been in office congress, the media and the senate have been having a national debate about how we should address this problem going forward. People on opposite sides of the debate are polarized about how to address this problem in the best interest of the country. So in response to this we have all of these fringe groups coming out of the wood works with their on ideas about what should or should not be done.
The tea party loyalist is one of these groups, "The tea party loyalist movement is a protest movement that emerged in 2009 through a series of local and nationally-coordinated Tea party protest. The protests are partially in response to the 2008 bailouts the 2009 stimulus package and the Democratically-sponsored 2009-2010 Health care reforms bills. The name "Tea Party" is a reference to the historic Boston Tea Party of 1773, a protest by American colonists against taxation by the British government when the colonists had no representation in the British Parliament. The Boston Tea Party pre-dated and laid the groundwork for the American Revolutionary War. Tea Party protests have sought to evoke themes, images and slogans similar to those used during this iconic, pre-Revolutionary period in American history. The name may also refer to the often-used acronym "TEA": a play on a party slogan "Taxed Enough Already."
It would seem to me that the real problem here is with ideas or ideology. I believe as Americans we all want the same thing. We want what is best for our country and its citizens. The problem we face as a nation, is how do we get there? Do we tax and spend our way to solving this nations problems. Do we impose legislation that resolves the issues surrounding the ideas about more or less government? To inject spirituality into the equation' Romans 13-1 Say's; "Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God." So contrary to what some might believe it is no accident that Barrack Obama is our current president. The times require the type of leadership that only he can provide. These things are spiritually discerned, so one must have a relationship with God to fully understand. It would be my prayer that as we go forward, we keep God as the foremost focus of our desires, in this way we know we cannot fail. The bible says that all things work for good for those who love the lord. Enough said. I can comfortably end it right there.
